Thousands of teddy bears will be at Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong

With the festive season around the corner, the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong together with international children’s fashion brand Nicholas & Bears will attempt a world record – of the longest line of teddy bears. The fun event will see thousands of teddy bears gather together for the ‘Teddy Bear afternoon tea’ while proceeds raised at the event will be donated to the Make-A-Wish foundation – for children with life-threatening medical conditions. The feat will be a Guinness World Records achievement for Longest line of teddy bears and will take place on December 30, 2013.

This quintessential teddy bear afternoon tea experience will see children and grown-ups enjoy an afternoon with an assortment of savory and sweet delights including cashew nut bear macaroons, bear chocolate lollipops, bear cupcakes, teddy smiles sable cookies, prosecco gummy bears, keeping with the theme of the day. Nicholas & Bears will also present a specially designed limited-edition stuffed bear for the event, which will be available for guests to purchase with proceeds to go directly to Make-A-Wish.


The Nicholas & Bears’ teddy bears will line the circumference of the entire 102nd floor at 420 m above sea level while guests are encouraged to buy a personalized bear to create a Guinness World Records title. An official Guinness World Records adjudicator will be present to verify the world record attempt.


The hotel is also hosting an exhibition by the young and talented Kerry on the same day. Kerry who recently underwent a brain tumor surgery, will be showcasing 30 pieces of her works, of which some teddy-bear themed pieces were drawn specially for the event. For the exhibition Tin Lung Heen restaurant’s private dining room will be transformed into a beautiful gallery where guests have the chance to buy her art work and Nicholas & Bears will match the value collected and donate the full amount generated to Make-A-Wish.

The record-breaking teddy bear afternoon tea will be served on the entire 102nd floor with spectacular views of the city and Victoria Harbour from 3- 6pm on December 30, 2013 and priced at HK$498 ($64) + 10 per cent per person, which also includes a mini-sized limited edition stuffed bear designed by Nicholas & Bears to take home.
